Current Vacancies

Applications are invited for the following position:

 

RESEARCH FELLOW/REGISTRAR

 

To commence 1st July 2010.

These positions are particularly suited to those involved in, or interested in pursuing higher studies.

 

Requirements:

Candidates must have full registration with the Irish Medical Council.

Candidates, ideally, should be engaged in research or have a research proposal in place.

 

The successful candidates will provide a 24 hour clinical service on a rota basis to medical and surgical inpatients at St. Vincent's Private Hospital. These appointments are for a period of one year. Salary: 6th point of the Registrar Salary Scale.

Applications are invited for the following posts:

 

Deputy Radiography Service Manager

 

A new position is being created in the Radiology Department for a Deputy Radiography Services Manager.

 

Applicants must:

 

Possess a Degree/Diploma in Radiography or equivalent that is validated by the DOH&C

Have a minimum of 6 years' post graduate experience in Radiography

Possess a post graduate qualification in CT and/or MRI

Have completed a management training programme or have substantial experience in the supervision and management of

staff and resources

Have excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative

Demonstrate adaptability to the rapid changes taking place in the health services

 

Main duties will include managing the day to day running of the General Department, including General Area, Fluoroscopy, DEXA

Scanning and Mobile Radiography. Assist the Radiography Services Manager in department planning, development of

operational policies, personnel management and quality assurance. Opportunities will be available to maintain clinical

skills in other areas of the Department. You may be required to work early or late shifts and there is an on-call and session

commitment.

 

Clinical Specialist Radiographer (MRI)

(Maternity leave cover from 1st June 2010)

 

The candidate must have good leadership and organisational skills to promote the services development and to maintain the

current high quality service and quality assurance programme within the Department while the Clinical Specialist in MRI is on

maternity leave.

 

Applicants must:

Possess a Degree/Diploma in Radiography or equivalent that is validated by the DOH&C

Have a minimum of 6 years' post graduate experience in Radiography

Possess a post graduate qualification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, as approved by the IIRRT and have circa 3 years'

practical clinical experience working in the speciality

Main duties will include managing the day to day running of the MRI Department, ensuring a high standard of service is provided

to patients, consultants and other users, organising training, supervision and professional development of the staff who will be

working in the MRI Department. Development of policies, procedures and guidelines for the department.

The candidate will be also responsible for managing the transition of MRI service to the new Hospital. Depending on the

candidate's previous radiography experience, opportunities will be available to maintain some of these skills. There will be a

requirement to participate in early or late shifts, on-call and/or session work.

 

Basic Grade Radiographer

(Locum position for 1 year to cover leave of absence from April 2010)

 

Applications must:

Possess a Degree/Diploma in Radiography or equivalent that is validated by the DOH&C

Ideally have 1 year's post graduate experience working in a general Radiography Department

There is a possibility that this position may be made permanent once staffing numbers are established for the new hospital.

Building Services Manager

(Fixed Term - 12 months commencing May 2010)

 

St. Vincent's Private Hospital wish to employ a Building Services Manager, who will be based in the new Hospital and will have

overall responsibility for the management of all mechanical and electrical systems, preventive maintenance and upkeep of a

digital Operation and Maintenance Manual.

 

Applicants must:

Be fully familiar with mechanical and electrical systems in a hospital environment

Understand the critical nature of hospital services and the need for reliability

Be aware of departmental functional requirements in a hospital environment

Be able to operate and understand Building Management Systems

Plan and manage a building energy and maintenance budget

Manage and sign-off the works of subcontractors carrying out maintenance work for medical and non-medical equipment

Have a qualification in facilities management, services engineering or other related and relevant discipline

Have a good knowledge of Health & Safety in relation to building operation and alterations/works which may be

undertaken

Have a knowledge of the relevant HTM's and HBN's in relation to the building and it's services

Clinical Facilitator

(Clinical Nurse Manager II Grade)

 

This is a full time permanent post - 37.5 hour working week This post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Nurse to

influence and enhance current practice within St. Vincent 's Private Hospital .

 

The post holder will be responsible for the orientation of new staff as well as the ongoing educational support of staff within the

nursing division. He/she will play an active role in ensuring and developing evidence based practice in collaboration with our

education co-ordinator.

 

Essential requirements:

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work on his/her own initiative

Good IT skills, with the ability to use Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc

Excellent organisational, planning and research skills

A long-standing interest in nurse education and evidence based practice

The post holder must possess the skills to motivate and support staff at all levels

At least 5 years' involvement in clinical practice in an acute hospital setting

A Degree or Higher Diploma in Nursing or equivalent is desirable

 

Theatre Peri-Operative Nurses x 4

 

The Operating Theatre Department are seeking full time Registered General Nurses with a Higher Diploma in

Peri-Operative Nursing Care or with relevant experience to work in the Peri-Operative Area.
